As ULLRS, we like to get outdoors to ski, bike, hike and picnic. But we also like to learn something new. An example of our Spring meetings consisted of an excellent buffet luncheon followed by a fascinating speaker at Joseph’s Grill in St Paul. Speaker topics at other meetings varied from nature, books, history and art.
Board elections were held in May and all of our current officers were re-elected. Three Cheers for volunteers!
Were you getting as frustrated as we were this Spring with the up and down temperatures and the heavy winds? Finally, weather has settled down so we have continued our hikes and started our bike rides. Check out our new website at ULLR.org for a full list. Of note are scheduled trips to ride the Lake Wobegon Trail at the end of June and a 3-day trip to the Mesabi Trail outside Virginia, MN in September.
If you are single, there is always a monthly single’s luncheon or occasional Game/Cards night. You have to watch some of those players…they can be cagey.
Ask any ULLR what makes an event great and the first response will be “food!” Each summer we gather at the Brookview Park Pavilion in Golden Valley for social picnics. The food is always plentiful and good tasting and the Ullr Foundation provides fresh baked desserts. Picnic dates are June 10, July 15 and August 12. See website for details. Come meet us! Visitors always welcome!
