We ULLRS hate to see summer ending. Just for the fun of it, a group of us did a Paddle Boat Adventure. We paddled three bodies of Centennial Lakes, under bridges, past the Putting Course and the Hughes Pavillion. And, of course, we followed this up with lunch at Tavern 23. One of our members led a tour of the Mill City Museum. This architectural showpiece is within the ruins of the Washburn A Mill along the water front. Our group saw a video regarding the history and development of St. Anthony. A yummy Ukrainian meal was enjoyed at Kramarczuk’s Sausage Company.
Ullr’s bicycling and hiking seasons overlap. Our bicyclists travel to Virginia Minnesota to ride the Mesabi Trail from September 8th to 11th. There are currently almost 160 miles of completed trails. Later in the month, we head south to Hastings for the Schaar’s Bluff ride. Hikers will start their season in Hastings as well, at the Cottage Grove Ravine National Park.
Our Fall meetings will be held at Joseph’s Grill in St. Paul. An excellent buffet will be served, followed by a timely speaker on both October 8th and November 19th. Ullr’s Holiday Party will also be held at Joseph’s on December 10th.
