On January 2-4 the Winter Carnival returned to Giants Ridge after eight years and the 53 skiers from 4 Minnesota Ski clubs had a fabulous time. The Lodge at Giants Ridge had wonderful accommodations, food, and service. The 4-piece band and dance floor were a nice addition along with some dubious Karaoke singing later on Saturday night that entertained all but a few!
Saturday activities included an atypical ski race and games of skill to entertain as we enjoyed the wine and cheese party outside the lodge around the raging firepit. After our delicious buffet and program including prizes and drawings, the majority shuttled into the town of Biwabik and enjoyed a topnotch band and lively dancing.
While the temps were chilly with snow on Sunday, we all enjoyed the longer runs and varied terrain of Giants Ridge Ski area. All of our survey respondents agreed it was a great time, and we are looking forward to the return of Winter Carnival in 2027!
